This limited-time collection of designs comes from a period of grief while living in the Midwest. I wanted to create a daisy chain long enough to bring my loved one back, like throwing a lifeguard rescue ring beyond the veil of death. I drew the tall grass prairie, which was devastated due to mass agriculture, so the scene is more a dreamscape than landscape, a prayer. The intertwined ginko leaves were my favorite leaves from home, which I drew longing for another time and place. And the geese flying away in v-formation marked the arrival of the season of darkness; their return in the spring was like a message from the past, that I could still keep happy memories from seasons past, despite great loss.
